Mary "Meze" L. Lynn

Mary “Meze” Louisa Lynn, 95, of Easton, passed away at 10:17 a.m. at Mason City Area Nursing Home on Tuesday, October 2, 2024. She was born on March 1, 1929 in Sherman Township, Mason County, Illinois, to Hobson Bale and Ida (Peplow) Bale. She married Harry L. Lynn on August 24, 1947 in Havana.

She was preceded in death by her husband on November 1, 2018, her parents, one son, Jerry Lynn of Easton, and two sisters, Doris Bailey and Wilma Bale.
Mrs. Lynn is survived by her son, Gary Lynn of Franklin, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Bev Lynn of Fishers, Indiana; grandchildren, Jennifer (Rick) Crouse of Huntsville, Alabama, Mary Beth (Jared) Hoss of Fishers, Indiana, Brittany Lynn of Davenport, Florida, and Mallory Lynn of Kissimmee, Florida; as well as five great-grandchildren, Peyton, Lincoln, Garet, Rowan, and Rylyn. Also surviving is one sister, Shirley Lynn of Easton and one brother, Hobson Bale, Jr. of Fowler.
Mrs. Lynn earned an associates degree in cosmetology, where she worked from the farm home in Crane Creek Township. She also worked in the Mason County Supervisor of Assessments office for 15 years. Meze and Harry spent all of their days in the Easton area that they loved while enjoying family gatherings on Sundays and holidays, supporting the local school events and social clubs, and vacationing annually in Minnesota.
There will be a private memorial service on Saturday, but we kindly ask you to help celebrate Meze’s life by finding joy in hugging your loved ones and enjoying a drink in her honor.
