Thomas K. Beasley, 68, of Lewistown, passed away on April 15, 2026 at the Graham Hospital Emergency Room in Canton. He was born on January 15, 1958 in Merced, California to Richard A. and Joan (Schellschmidt) Beasley. They preceded him in death. Surviving is his brother Mike (Beth) Beasley of St. David.

Susan A. Hall

Susan A. Hall, 75, of Canton, passed away at 8:34 PM on Monday, April 13, 2026 at Graham Hospital in Canton, IL. She was born on September 22, 1950 in Sterling, IL to Claire and Hazel (Meisel) Sonneman. She first married Wayne Demott and later married George Hall.


She is survived by three children, Ryan (Jocelynn) Demott , Mandy Demott and Justin Demott, whom she considered her son; six grandchildren, Rylee Demott, Alexander Demott, Liam Demott, Brandon Hall,  Zach Hall, Trystin Demott; sister-in-law, Sally Sonneman; and nephews, Christopher (Tiffany) Sonneman and their daughters, Matthew (Tracy) Sonneman, and their daughters, whom Susan loved very much.


She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Paul Sonneman.


Susan worked for Glen McGuire Clinic and Parkview Orthopedic Group Palos Heights. She also loved her animals.


Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 20, 2026 at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton, IL. Rev. Matt Spangler will officiate. Larry R. Roberson

Larry R. Roberson, 86, of Farmington, passed away at Farmington Village, on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.

He was born on November 6, 1939, in Canton to Torris and Pearl (McAlister) Roberson. They preceded him in death as well as his previous wife, Diane (Williams) Simons, son Craig Roberson, and siblings, Alice Jones, and Marion Edwards.

Larry is survived by his life partner, Donna DeGroot, daughter, Lisa (Jack) Gray, two siblings, Lorena (Joel) Summers, and Jeannie (Charles) Dangler, two grandchildren, Clinton Lovel, and Kayla Lovel, four great grandchildren, Wyatt, Bailey, Emily, and Cooper, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Larry was a truck driver for many years and farmed, he retired from Prax Air in Pekin. Larry was a past member of the Glasford Masonic Lodge, and a member of White Chapel Church in Glasford. Larry enjoyed hunting fishing and farming. He could name a song for any word you could come up with and enjoyed telling stories, and spending time with his family.

A visitation will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. A Masonic service will be held at 2:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service.

Burial will immediately follow the services at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to White Chapel Church.

Kathryn McCoy

Kathryn McCoy, 68, of Cuba, passed away on April 14, 2026 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born on September 2, 1957 in Canton to Wayne D. and Patricia M. (Hamm) Ward. Kathy married David McCoy on March 29, 1997 in Peoria. He survives along with her brother Verle J. Ward of Dunfermline, four sisters; Janet Scalf of Canton, Cheryl Hart of Canton, Vicki McCallister of Dunfermline and Lois Harris of Fairview and numerous nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Anthony Ward.

Kathy liked fishing, gardening, watching the hummingbirds and just being outdoors.

Cremation rites have been accorded through Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton. There will be no services, per her wishes.

Patricia A. Wagahoff

Patricia A. Wagahoff, 78, of Ipava, IL, passed away at 8:46 am on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. She was born on March 29, 1948, the daughter of Roy and Clara Mae (Bricker) Wagahoff. Pat is preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law; Charlene Wagahoff.


She is survived by her son; Mike Wagahoff of Ipava, IL, brother; Dennis Wagahoff of Greenwood, IN, niece; Chari Burke and great-nephew; Nick Burke.

Pat worked in the Secretary of State office for 35 years. She was member of the Ipava Christian Church for 65 years, where she served as treasurer. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years, American Legion Auxiliary for over 50 years and the Ipava Fire Department Auxiliary. Pat served on the Fulton County Fair Board as secretary for 20 years, Spoon River Professional Women’s Club for 20 years, Ipava Ballpark Board as treasurer for 20 years, Fulton County Garden Tractor Pull Association as secretary for 20 years, Ipava Village Board and Camp Ellis Days Board and was a past Camp Ellis Days Grand Marshall. She also was Pleasant Township Supervisor for 25 years.

Pat enjoyed babysitting, scrap booking, watching ball games, playing solitaire on the computer and working in the yard with her flowers.

Services will be held at 10 am on Monday, April 20, 2026 at the Ipava Christian Church in Ipava. Pastor Brant Reed will be officiating. A visitation will take place from 1 to 5 pm on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at the church in Ipava. An Order of the Eastern Star service will be held at 5 pm after the visitation on April 19. Interment will be in the Ipava Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Ipava American Legion Auxiliary or the Ipava Fire Department.

Susan J. Behrends

Susan Joan Behrends, 71, of Tremont, IL, passed away at 2:50 pm on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL. She was born on August 19, 1954 in Lincoln, IL, the daughter of Gerald and Goldie (Aper) Burlingame.


She is survived by one son; Bradley (and Brittany) Behrends of Pekin, IL, four sisters; Karen (and Jeff) Abernathy of Lewistown, IL, Lois (and Bill) Farquhar of Blandinsville, IL, Emily (and Larry) Mustread of Bowling Green, KY, and Carol (and Jeff) Hillyer of Table Grove, IL, and one brother; Charles Burlingame of Ipava, IL.

Susan is preceded in death by her parents and one brother; Duane Burlingame.

Susan was Marketing Support Representative at RK Dixon Co. in Peoria, IL. She also worked at Independence Media in Peoria, as a Marketing Consultant. She was a real estate agent in Lincon, IL working at Werth & Associates for Century 21.

She was a member of the Lutheran Church in Hartsburg, Tremont United Methodist Church and the Pekin First United Methodist Church. Susan enjoyed crafting, the outdoors, shopping, spending time with friends and family and breakfast of all kinds.

Services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Cremation rites will be accorded after the service.

Eugene Bainter

Eugene Bainter, 79, of Lewistown, passed away at 8:43 pm Friday April 10, 2026 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.


He was born September 30, 1946 at Canton, the son of C. Leo and R. Jean (Henderson) Bainter. Survivors include two sisters, Marjorie Easley of Morton, and Mary Cox of Canton, numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Eugene worked many years at Microsonics in California and later retired from Star Transport.


A graveside service will be held at 11 am Friday April 17, 2026 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude or the Lewistown Rescue Squad.

Jacqueline J. Seghi

Jacqueline J. Seghi, 92, of Canton, passed away on April 12, 2026 at Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. She was born on April 8, 1934 in Canton to Robert and Ruth (Hackney) Duffield. Jacqueline married Fred Seghi on February 10, 1956 in Canton. He survives along with two children; Gina (DJ) Johnson of Farmington and Todd Seghi of Bloomington, two sisters; Beverly Lawver of Canton and Joan (Chuck) McGuire of Normal, two grandchildren; Caleb (Jeana) Johnson and Emily Johnson, two great-grandchildren; Corbin Johnson and Ansley Johnson and nieces and nephews.

Jacqueline was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Connie L. Seghi, sister Scheralyn Lynch and brother Robert Duffield

She first worked at Lewis Pharmacy in Canton and retired from Canton School District #66 as a teacher aide at Eastview Elementary. She enjoyed shopping, lunch and gardening. She loved spending time with her family.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a private burial of ashes will take place at a later date. Memorials can be made to the Parlin-Ingersoll Library in Canton.

Richard A. Mason,

Richard A. Mason, 71, of Warden, IL, formerly of Canton, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Alton Hospital.

He was born on July 21, 1954 in Canton to Victor and Barbara (Meece) Mason. They preceded him in death.

Surviving is his companion of 26 years, Dean Hofman and Richard’s sister, Sue (Keith) Freiley of Canton.

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Lu Probyn.

Richard worked in the Pharmacy Benefits field for several insurance companies retiring in 2018 from Express Scripts. He enjoyed doing advanced cross word puzzles and making latch hook rugs. He was an accomplished pianist and traveled with Dean throughout the world.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026 at 11 am, at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton. There will be no visitation.

Beverly David

Beverly David, 84, of Liverpool, passed away, Thursday, April 9, 2026, at her home.

She was born on February 25, 1942, to Arnold and Sylvia Rilea. She was a member of the Little Sisters Square Dance Group. They traveled for dances to Chicago WLS Radio Station ad she loved every minute of it.

Beverly married Martin David in July 22, 1957, they later divorced and she married Russell David on May 17, 1986. He passed away on December 21, 2022. Also preceding her in death were her parents, daughter Linda David, grandson Matthew Hawf, sons Kevin David, Greg David, three brothers, Larry Rick, and Fred, two sisters Judy and Lowane, one step son Dean, step grandson, David, and step granddaughter, Danyel Riley.

Beverly is survived by son, Karl (Marianna) David of Texas, daughter Christine (Tim) VanMiddlesworth of Canton, two step daughters, Cindy and Patty, five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two great great grandsons, several step grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation rites will be accorded with Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton.

Beverly was a member of His River of Life Church in Liverpool where a memorial funeral will be held for Beverly and Russell on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.

Rose M. Rushford

Rose M. Rushford 97 of Canton,IL. passed away April 10,2026 at The Village at Farmington. She was born on July 10,1928 in Rapatee, IL., a daughter of Charles and Merle (McCoy) Daley. Rose was married to Dr. Irwin Rushford.


Preceded her in death was one brother Ray Daley and sister Barb Meyers.


Surviving are her children Toni (Bob) Rockhold and Charles (Jane) Rushford; four grandkids Jason (Brittany) Rockhold, Jessie Rushford, Nick Rockhold, Clayton Rushford; six great-grandkids Emma, Addison, Rylynn, Ainsley ,Mason, Quinn; her special friend Etta.


Rose owned and operated Lee Rose in Canton for over fifty years. She loved gardening and cooking.


Cremation rites will be entrusted with Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton. Burial of ashes will be at a later date in White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton. Memorials can be made to Fulton County Humane Society or to the Fulton-Mason County Women’s Crisis Service.

Dorothy A. Naumann,

Dorothy A. Naumann, 99, of Canton, formerly of Yates City, passed away at 6:13 p.m., on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Red Oak Memory Care in Canton.

Dorothy was born July 17, 1926, to John and Mary (Semptner) Crocker. She married Paul Naumann on September 17, 1945, in Chillicothe. He preceded her in death in 1973.

Dorothy is survived by one son, Allan (Dotty) Naumann of Elmwood; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Robert Naumann; and one grandchild.

Dorothy’s helped her husband with his business, Paul’s Lights, Sight, and Sound until after his death. She then went to work at Crocker Implement in Henry. She then was a secretary for Yates City School for 19 years.

Dorothy was a lifelong member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church where she served as director of religious education for 40 years, lector and minister of Holy Communion, member of Altar Rosary, and parish secretary for 57 years.

Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, April 17, 2026, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Elmwood. Burial will immediately follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in rural Elmwood.

Memorials may be made to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Elmwood.

George H. Kenney

George H. Kenney, 86, of Canton, passed away on April 9,2026 at his residence. He was born on August 20, 1939 in Pekin to Everett B. and Matria (Lee) Kenney. George married Kay Pemble on March 12, 1960 in Canton. She survives along with their son Everett (Renai) Kenney of Canton, daughter-in-law Marceline Kenney of Canton, six grandchildren; Tyler Kenney, Chantel Hoerr, Justine Richardson, Travis Ewing, Brandon Kenney and Ryan Kenney and fifteen great-grandchildren.

George was preceded in death by his parents, one son George E. Kenney, four brothers, Orville, Paul, Dale and David and one sister Donna Williams.

George worked at Caterpillar INC. for 32 years, retiring in 1992.

Services will be 2 pm, Thursday, April 16, 2026 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton, where visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Canton. 

Eugene Hood

Bernard Eugene Hood, 70, of Lewistown, passed away Saturday April 11, 2026 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.


He was born October 16, 1955 at Canton, the son of Bernard and Darlene (Heffren) Hood. Survivors include one daughter, Michelle (Joe) Cagle of Havana, two grandchildren, Blake and Carison Cagle, and two brothers, Ronnie Hood of Lewistown, and Rickey (Donna) Hood of Cuba. He was preceded in death by his parents.


Cremation will be accorded and a graveside service with burial of ashes will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown at a later date. Henry-Lange Memorial Home will announce the date and time. Memorial contributions may be made to his daughter, Michelle Cagle.

Christopher J. Deushane

Christopher J. Deushane, 65, formerly of St. David and Moline, passed away peacefully yesterday afternoon, surrounded by the love of his brother and sister, after months of fighting illness after illness at OSF Medical Center and OSF Divine Mercy Continuing Care Hospital in Peoria. He was born on June 23, 1960 in Canton to Lawrence and Mary (Delmastro) Deushane.

Surviving are his mother, Mary of St David, brother, Michael Deushane of Fairview, sister, Lisa McCluskey of Harrison, TN, nieces, Mary Sherbert, Elizabeth McCluskey, Erin McCluskey, great niece, Emery Newport, Great nephew, Sirr Caldwell and Joseph Sehon. His father and brother, David, preceded him in death.

Chris was a talented musician, and took great pride in having been a member of the Moline Boys Choir. He was deeply religious, spending hours each day immersed in his Bible. He loved Si Fi Movies and collecting CDs and albums of his favorite bands.

He is at peace and his body restored as he sits at the feet of Jesus.

The entire team at OSF Saint Francis in Peoria was amazing. Their compassion was truly unparalleled.

Rest easy, son and brother. We love you and will see you one day.

Joseph Orval Burkiett

Joseph Orval Burkiett, 80, of Fairview, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at his residence.

He was born on September 27, 1945 in Canton to Joseph W. and Verna (Botts) Burkiett.

He married Edna Vanderpool on January 22, 1966 in Exeter, MO. She survives.

Also surviving are his children, Joseph E. (Annette) Burkiett of Fairview, Corinna (Christopher) Walters of Wee-Ma-Tuk, brothers, Dennis (Joyce) Burkiett of Fairview, Albert (Teresa) Burkiett of AR, Stephen (Margie) Burkiett of Fairview, Tom (Lydia) Burkiett of FL, Andrew Burkiett of Fairview, sister, Rachel (Scott) Yerly of Fairview, grandchildren, Joseph T., Tara, Alexis, Madison, Jace, great grandchild, Kassidy and great great grandchild, Fletcher and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Samuel and David and one grandson, Brandon Swise.

Joe worked for Midland Coal and was also a self-employed farmer throughout the Fairview area. He is the current Fairview Township Road Commissioner serving for over 30 years. He was a member of the Coal Creek Bible Church where he served as an Elder. He enjoyed mushrooming, fishing, and watching wildlife. Edna and Joe had a passion for traveling.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton at 3 pm. The Rev. Jacob Tourtillott will officiate. A visitation will be held from 1-3 pm at the funeral home on Sunday also.

A private burial of his ashes will be held at the Coal Creek Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Faith Bible Camp or to Coal Creek Bible Church.

Norma J. Williams

Norma Jean Dutton (Lofton) Williams, age 88, of Havana, Illinois passed away on the morning of 04/08/2026, at her home from natural causes.

Norma Jean was born on May 25, 1937, in Astoria, Illinois to John and Esther Baum Dutton of Bluff City, Illinois. Norma was a graduate of Rushville High School in 1955. Norma received her CNA license from Spoon River College. After she graduated from high school she began working at the Illinois Secretary of State until her first daughter was born. For several years she was a stay home mother and housewife, a job she found rewarding. Later in life she worked for the Mason County Health Department, Home Health Care Division, until she retired.
Surviving family members are Pamela (Steve) Burget of Astoria, Illinois, a daughter Krista (Jeff) Wilcoxen, of Easton, Illinois, her son Jonathan (Amy) Willams, of St. Louis, Missouri. She leaves behind several grandchildren, Audrey (Zack) Berning, Laura Adams, Jessica (Tyler) Duncan, Dustin Adams, Daniel Adams, and Karissa Wilcoxen. Great grandchildren Eli, Lailan, Mailee, Graitan and baby Berning is on the way.
Preceding her in death was her first husband Kenneth Lofton, parents John and Esther Dutton, her beloved daughter Kendra Lofton Adams, her second husband John L. Williams, and her sister Dorothy Weaver.
Norma Jean was a lifelong Christian who was a member of the Havana Southern Baptist Church. For a time Norma attended the Grace Baptist Church. Norma in her younger years was also a member of the Eastern Star.
Norma enjoyed singing and playing the piano for church. She was church choir leader for several years. Norma enjoyed being an artist. She dabbled in several mediums, pen and ink, oils, pastels, and China painting.
Norma loved sharing memories about growing up in Bluff City. Norma would often reminisce about her own childhood and would tell stories of her children’s younger years. Norma was an avid word search enthusiast and enjoyed reading the Bible. She loved spending time with her family and staying home. Norma attended church and went to her Bible study group regularly. Norma’s favorite hymn was "How Great Thou Art” and scripture was Matthew 19:26 “But Jesus looked at them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Norma was diligent to write down all the deaths and births of family members in her Bible.
Norma will be remembered for her faith in the Lord. One thing about Norma she would not hesitate to tell others she was a Christian. Norma loved gardening and especially her flowers. Norma mowed her yard and kept an immaculate home until God decided it was time for her to rest.
Graveside services will be on Friday, April 10, 2026 at 11:00 am Laurel Hill Cemetery. Afterwards fellowship and meal will be held at the Havana Southern Baptist Church to celebrate Norma’s journey to Heaven. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Havana Southern Baptist Church at 425 N. Pearl in Havana.
