Harriet B. Clauson – Balagna

Harriet B. Clauson – Balagna, 87, of Trivoli, passed away, Monday, October 14, 2024 at Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. She was born in Peoria, on March 21, 1937, to Harry and Laurine Keye Wilkinson. They preceded her in death as well her two brothers, William Wilkinson, and Rolland Coughlin. Harriett married Don Clauson on August 20 1960 who preceded her in death In 1996. She later married Fred Balagna on February 13, 2001; he also preceded her in death in 2020. She is survived by her two cats, Kitty and Miss Kitty. Harriet is a member of Calvary Temple in Bellevue. She first lived in Peoria on Wiswold street and later moved to the Trivoli area in 5th grade. She graduated as valedictorian from Glasford High School and later graduated from Bradley University. She taught PE and business skills at Manual High School for 45 years. Harriet enjoyed taking care of her flowers, feeding the birds and spending time with her cats. She also enjoyed playing piano. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at Penn Ridge Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Manual High School boys basketball or next time out at a restaurant generously over-tip just as she always did.
