Lyle was born January 16, 1940, in Peoria, to Walter and Gertrude (Rice) Doubet. Lyle married Anita “Peggy” Hopwood on April 22, 1961.
Lyle is survived by one son, Michael (Ann) Doubet of Elmwood; one brother, Lynn (Judy) Doubet; one sister, Evelyn Mowers; two grandchildren, Chase (Grace) Doubet and Emma Doubet; and one great-grandchild on-the-way.
Lyle is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Walter Doubet; two brothers, Paul (Lois) Doubet and Roland Doubet; and two sisters, Laura Belle Cruise and Viola Hamby.
Lyle served in the Air Force for two years. He was a D.A.V. member. Lyle then went on to work as a union Electrician for I.B.E.W. Local #34 for 50 years.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, October 14, 2024, at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Elmwood. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at Elmwood Township Cemetery.
