He was born June 24, 1936 at Cuba the son of Dale E. and Lila Mae (Hooper) Henderson. He married Hazel M. Ashwood on November 22, 1956 at Canton. She died March 6, 2025. He was also preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Donna Shaw, Doris Weaver and Leigh Ann Dissman, and four brothers-in-law, Kay White, John Shaw, Larry Weaver, and Pat Dissman. Surviving are four children, Michael (Roberta) Henderson of Smithfield, Timothy (Valerie) Henderson of Pevely, MO; Lila (Jim) Kline of Andalusia, and Ellen (Michael) Henderson-Gasser of LaHarpe, seven grandchildren, Nathan and Sarah (Harley) Cunningham, Daniel Mayall, Julia and Joshua Henderson, Stephanie (Brad) Kline-Tissi, and Rachael (Daryl Van Quakebeke) Kline, eight great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, one sister, Darlene White of Marietta, and one brother, Dale (Marilyn) Henderson of Urbana, OH.
Marvin was a lifelong farmer, he also worked at the Freeman United Coal Company. Marvin was the Cass Township supervisor and road commissioner for many years. He was a member of the Cuba Lodge AF&AM 534, and a member of the Fulton County Farm Bureau. Marvin enjoyed reading, working jigsaw puzzles, and puttering in his shop.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday April 11th at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba with Pastor Mike Arnett officiating. Burial will be in Henderson Cemetery at rural Cuba. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Friday April 10th at the funeral home followed by a masonic service at 7 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Cuba Food Pantry.
