Robert Warner “Bob” Null, 93, of Manito, formerly of Forest City, passed away at the Lodge, in Manito, at 7:40 a.m., on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. He was born September 11, 1932, in Browning, Illinois, to John Robert and Nina Enida (Warner) Null. He married Eleanor Sinclair in 1952. He later married Gwen Canopy on March 6, 1961, in Delavan. She preceded him in death on July 16, 2000.Mr. Null is survived by two daughters: Jeanette (Lyle) Gallagher, of Phoenix, Arizona, and Billie Jo (Dale) Swearingen, of Mapleton, Illinois; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-granddaugter. Also surviving are two step-children: Mary (Rick) Huse of South Pekin, Illinois, and Susan (Scott) Bickley, of Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Gwen, and stepson Tomas Canopy.
Mr. Null served in the US Air Force from 1950 – 1953, and was a veteran of the Korean War. He farmed in the Forest City area his entire working life, retiring in 2001. He was a member of the Forest City Community Church. He was a member of Hill-Palmer American Legion Post, in Manito, Forest City-Manito Rotary Club, Forest City Township Board, Forman Fire Department, and Mason County Extension Service Board. He also, along with Gwen, were 4-H leaders for the Happy Hustlers 4-H Club. Bob was a light in everyone’s eyes. He will be deeply missed. The family would like to thank The Lodge in Manito, Manito Medical Associates,Gentiva Hospice, Springfield and Heidi Jo Kemper for all their love and care.
Funeral services will be held at Maas-Hurley Funeral Home, in Manito, on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the services. Rev. Scott Nichols will officiate. Burial will follow the services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, near Forest City.
