Gerry D. “Butch” Ferrell

Gerry D. “Butch” Ferrell, 88, of Hanna City, passed away, Monday, February 2, 2026, at Carle Methodist in Peoria. He was born in Judson, Indiana, on September 5, 1937, to Raymond Ferrell and Trilba (Lopp) Miles. They preceded him in death as well as 3 brothers and 3 stepbrothers. Gerry is survived by his wife of 66 years, Bonnie (Rushing) Ferrell. They were married on November 14, 1959. Also surviving are three children, Sue (Steve) Sichler, William “Bill” Ferrell and Richard “Rick” Ferrell, 9 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. Gerry graduated from Limestone High School. He worked as a general contractor for many years. For over 30 years, he attended weekly Full Gospel Businessmen’s luncheons. In recent years, you could find him picking up roadside trash and beautifying Hanna City. He enjoyed bantering back and forth with the staff at Kountry View. He enjoyed tooling around on his golf cart, hitting golf balls in the yard and visiting his neighbors. Cremation rites will be accorded with Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton
