He is survived by three children, Scott (Jennifer) Slayton, Chris (Todd) Lasswell, and David (Joni) Slayton; nine grandchildren, Beau Slayton, Breea Slayton, Emma Slayton, Ashlynn Slayton, John Maxwell, Billy Slayton, Cody Slayton, Sierra Laswell, and Alexis Lasswell; and five great-grandchildren; one brother, Mike (Mary) Slayton; and close friends, Rich and Vicki Kosowski.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Patty (Mike) Conlin, and Linda Laughlin.
Raymond graduated from Elmwood High School. He worked as a coal miner. He worked at Archer Daniels Midland, Pacific Ethanol, owned his own business, Power Systems Logic and Control. He farmed all of his life. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and visiting with friends.
