Tana L. Anderson

Tana L. Anderson, 80, of Wee Ma Tuk passed away at 1:55 am Monday January 15, 2024 at the OSF Richard Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.



She was born May 21, 1943 at Canton, the daughter of Ronald and Shirley (Higgins) Davis, and was raised by Jim and Naomi Higgins and her stepmother Betty Davis. She married the love of her life Terry K. Anderson on August 14, 1960 at Canton. He survives with two daughters, Andrea (Duane) Dean of Henry, and Brenda (special friend Kurt Striegel) Anderson of Wee Ma Tuk, two grandsons, Joshua Dean of Dunlap, and Brett (Paige) Dean of Chillicothe, four great grandchildren, Brynn, Scott, Rosalie, and Samuel, four sisters, Dee Dee (Mike) Williams of Naples, FL; Rona (Ron) Gutzky of Galesburg, Jane (Scott) Warren of Galesburg, and Lindsay (Keith) Peachey of Galesburg, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother, and an infant son, Eric Anderson.



Tana was a school kindergarten teacher, and later worked as a bookkeeper and secretary for Associates in Dentistry, and also for the Cuba School District. She later retired to become her husband’s secretary with Equitable Advisors. Tana loved playing the piano and accordion, loved card games and eating chocolates, and was a die hard Cubs fan. She enjoyed going to the casinos. She was a very caring and giving person and especially loved her family gatherings at their home in Wee Ma Tuk. Her greatest joy was her family, specifically her  two grandsons and 4 great grandchildren. She loved following them in their activities and never missed a time to speak about them.




Cremation will be accorded, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
