She was born on January 18, 1927 in Peoria County to Clyde and Bertha (Fennell) Morse.
Katherine married James D. Sharpshair on March 1, 1947 in Rock Island. He preceded her in death on April 26, 1994.
Surviving is son Richard (Laura) Sharpshair of Canton, three grandchildren, Nathaniel “Nate” (Brynn) Sharpshair of Peoria, Ryan Sharpshair of Canton, Megan Sharpshair of Frisco, TX, two great grandchildren, Addisen and Avery, one sister, Hazel Steagall of Norris and several nieces and nephews.
Also preceding her in death is one daughter, Lucinda Sharpshair-Kidd, eight brothers and three sisters.
Katherine worked as a registered nurse and served as house supervisor at Graham Hospital retiring in 1987. She was a past member of the Women of the Moose in Farmington. Most of all her life revolved around her family and was a loving mother, grandmother and friend.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 11 am, at the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton with a visitation to be held one hour prior at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton.
Memorials may be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital or the Wounded Warriors Program.
