Sharon K. Phelps

Sharon K. Phelps, 82, of Elmwood, passed away at 12:30 a.m., on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Farmington Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born July 3, 1941, in Washington, IL, to James and Lenia (Black) Menees. She married Bruce Phelps on June 21, 1959, at Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria. He survives.

Sharon is also survived by two sons, David (Becky) Phelps of Scottsdale, AZ, and Tom Phelps of Elmwood, IL; one sister, Shirley Marsh; one brother-in-law, Don (Sue) Phelps; two sisters-in-law, Pat (Dave) Broeker and Nancy Galloway; four grandchildren, Josh (Lindsey) Faber, Ashley Phelps, Jordan Phelps, and Ryleigh Shae.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Edward Menees.

Sharon was a Chiropractic Assistant at Glover Chiropractic for 44 years. She was also a lifetime member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria. In her earlier years, she was involved with PARC and the frolic fundraisers. Sharon also enjoyed traveling, vacationing to Minnesota, taking motorcycle trips all over the country, and dedicating her life to her family and friends.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Per her request, there will be no services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Freedom Riders.
