Jacqueline M. Crawford

Jacqueline M. Crawford, 94, of 617 N 2nd Ave., Canton, Illinois, passed with peace and dignity into the arms of her Savior at 3:31 pm on Sunday, January 21, 2024. Her daughter was at her side.

Born February 12, 1929, in Joliet, Illinois, to Fred M. and M. Marie (Snyder) Grubaugh, Jackie married Lee R. Crawford on October 12, 1952, in Canton where they made their home and raised their children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee, who passed on September 24, 1993; her brother F. Eugene Grubaugh, and her nephew John Grubaugh.

Surviving are her four children Kathy Crawford of Kerrville, TX, Karen (Gregory) Zaborac of Canton, IL, with whom Jackie had made her home for the past two months, Robert (Sharon) Crawford of West Branch, IA, and Laura (Mark) Lantz of Clinton, OK. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, Michael (Katie) Crawford, Kelly (Erick) Olson, Katherine (Aaron) Birkland, Stephanie Brown, Nicholas (Amanda) Brown, Matthew (Erin) Lantz, Aaron Lantz, and Andrew Lantz, and 14 great-grandchildren Jack, Ivan, Grace, and Ellie Olson, Liam and Emersyn Crawford, Andrew, Hannah, and Noah Birkland, Jaxson Brown, Kianna and Drake Dorris, Adryn Davis, and Lennon Lantz . For everyone, every birthday, anniversary, and Christmas was acknowledged with a card and gift with “lots of love” from Mom/Momo. Also surviving are her four nieces and many great nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Crawford retired in 2006 from Canton Union School District 66 where she joyfully served as Canton High School’s Library Clerk for more than 30 years.

She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Canton.

She loved playing bridge whether it was with family or at one of her card clubs. In her earlier years, Jackie also enjoyed bowling and golf.

Jackie did not know a stranger. She loved people and showed acceptance to all…ready to embrace someone’s story and as easily ready to share one of her own.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 29, 2024, at Sedgwick Funeral Homes in Canton, Illinois. The Rev. Dr. Shalom Renner will officiate.

There will be a visitation from 10:00 AM -11:00 AM before the funeral service.

Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens, Canton, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Susan G. Komen. To view Jacqueline’s DVD or to leave an online condolence you may go to www.sedgwickfuneralhomes.com
