Mildred L. Ward

Trivoli- Mildred L. Ward, 87, of Trivoli, passed away at 11:09 AM on Monday, January 8, 2024 at her residence. She was born on January 5, 1937 in Havana, a daughter of Louie and Mabel (Rakestraw) Tarvin. She married Wayland Ward on June 1, 1954 in Havana. He preceded her in death on July 17, 2016.


Also preceding her in death were her parents, son, Alan Ward, brother, Bill Tarvin, and sister, Sharon Tarvin.


Surviving is one son, Todd (Karen) Ward of Lewistown; daughter-in-law, Diane Ward of Trivoli; three grandsons, Mark, Jake, Andrew; four great-grandchildren, Jacee, Jaxon, Jessie, Maddix, one brother, Merle (Barb) Tarvin of Havana, one sister, Ann (Bill) Mescheark of Trivoli, and her cats, Izzy, and Fuzzball.


Mildred worked and retired as a switchboard operator from Illinois Bell, then known as AT&T, retiring in 1996, after many years of service. She attended Brunswick Church in Trivoli, was a member of the Central Illinois Hosta’s Society. She loved gardening, but most of all was spending time with her loving family.


Per Mildred’s wishes, there will be no services, cremation rites will be accorded through Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington.
