He was born on October 29, 1947 in Washington, IL to Claude and Gladys (Fawcett) Browning. They preceded him in death.
He married Carolyn Rector on August 17, 1969 in Canton. She survives.
Also surviving is his daughter, Amanda (Bob) Benak of Maine, one brother, John (Rita) Browning of Normal, one sister, Barbara Goodin of Virginia and one grandson, Lincoln Benak.
He was also preceded in death by one son Sean Patrick Browning.
Steve retired from Basement Dewatering in Canton. He was a member of St Mary’s Catholic Church in Canton and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Steve’s passion was playing in various Rock-n-Roll bands.
Cremation rites have been accorded through Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton and a funeral memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 11 am, at St Mary’s Catholic Church with a visitation two hours prior at the church. A funeral luncheon will follow Mass at the Parish Hall. Burial of his ashes will be at St Joseph Cemetery at a later date.
