Robert "Bob" L. Bowlin, Sr.

Canton- Robert L. “Bob” Bowlin Sr., 85, of Canton, passed away at 12:38 PM on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington. He was born on May 14, 1938 in Canton, a son of Enos and Flora (Roark) Bowlin. He married Patricia McNally on February 2, 1968 in Canton. She survives.

Also surviving are his children, Robert Bowlin Jr. of Aiken, South Carolina; Julie (Wayne) Sandy of Bloomington; Kristi (Ron) Hoyle of Magnolia, Texas; six grandchildren, Abby (Tyler), Zach, Emily, Gabe, Maura, Jackson, and one sister, Peggy Bowlin of Canton.

Preceding Bob in death were his parents, Enos (Flora) Bowlin.

He started his working career with IHC in Canton, and later worked for Keystone in Bartonville, and lastly worked for Morton Welding in Morton, retiring in 2007. Bob was a Christian man, proudly using his carpentry skills to help with the construction of Temple Baptist Church in Canton, where he attended for several years, and later he attended First Baptist Church of Canton. He enjoyed fishing, and reading in his spare time, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Bob proudly served his country as a parachutist with the 82nd Airborne Division in the United States Army.
