He was born on June 21, 1953 in Canton to John Leopold and Christine (Forbis) Hartline.
He married Patricia Cartwright on August 7, 1976 in Monrovia, CA. She survives.
Also surviving are five children, John (Nancy) Hartline of Houston, TX, Joseph Hartline of Mt. Baldy, CA, Steven (Courtney) Hartline of Upland, CA, William “Bill” Hartline of Canton, Rebecca Hartline of Canton, one brother, James Logan Hartline of Canton and eleven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Christine and one brother, Richard.
John worked and retired from San Diego Power and Gas. He was later the valet at Graham Hospital and at the Clinic.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024, from 5-7 pm, at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. A graveside service will follow on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 11 am, at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton.
Memorials may be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital.
