Surviving is her partner Eddie Barton, three children; Troy Allen Scovil, Tony Leroy Ennis and Ticy Dennelle Lonergan, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two brothers; Steve E. Akers and Russell C. Akers and one sister Lori Ann Akers.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Kevin Akers.
She retired as a clerk from the Burlington Railroad. She enjoyed singing, dancing and being with her family and friends.
