Canton-Claude E. Blessman, 91, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at his residence with his family by his side.
He was born on August 9, 1932 in Mason City, Il to Claude S. and Florence (Lussenhope) Blessman.
He married Nita Reuss on September 2, 1956 in Mason City. She preceded him in death on December 2, 2018.
Surviving are two children Susan (Douglas) Miller of Rowlett Texas, Michael (Heather) Blessman of Canton, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Blessman, Gene Blessman and two sisters, Wanda Doyle and Elizabeth Leesman.
Claude served in the U.S. Army and later attended the University of Illinois and the St. Louis College of Pharmacy. He owned and operated Blessman Pharmacy in Canton for 30 years retiring in 1999. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 3pm with a visitation from 2-3 pm at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton.
Burial of the ashes will be held at the Mason City Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church.
