Karen J. Elliott

Karen Jean Elliott, 69, of Havana, passed away at 10:03 p.m., on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at Mason District Hospital, in Havana. She was born January 27, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, to Harry C. and Carol M. (Lindstrom) Elliott.


Karen is survived by one son, J.J. Onken, of Havana; three sisters: Janis (Jerry) Hurley, of Havana, Nancy (companion, Jr. Bridges) Elliott, of Havana, and Amy (Daryl) Weseloh, of Minier; as well as four nephews, one niece, two great-nieces, and one great-nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Karen worked at the Havana Public Library, as a librarian for many years. She was a die hard Chicago Cubs fan. She enjoyed reading, watching Star Trek and Doctor Who and listening to Queen. She also enjoyed spending time with her great-nieces and nephew, while teaching them art or taking them to art class.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a visitation will be held at Hurley Funeral Home, in Havana, on Friday, October 27, 2023 from Noon, until 2:00 p.m. Private graveside services will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery, in Havana, where she will be laid to rest with her parents.
