She was born on October 11, 1960 in Canton to Lionel and Sharon (Utsinger) Bauman.
She married David Hitesman on September 27, 1997 in Peoria. He survives.
Also surviving are her children, Lacy (Bernard Robinson) Allard of Peoria, Jerry (Laura) Hitesman of Mackinaw, David (Jessica) Hitesman of Chillicothe, Billie Jo (Trevon Smith) Hitesman of Pekin, Albert Hitesman of Interlachen, FL, three brothers, Charles Bauman, Lionel Bauman, Ivan Bauman, four sisters, Nikki Froman, Linda Bauman, Tonya Sally, Dawn Bauman, thirteen grandchildren including Lariah Allard with whom she made her home, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one nephew, Derick Bauman.
Melody worked as a CNA at Heartland Health Care and Renaissance Care Center both in Canton. Lastly, she worked at Denny’s and UFS in Peoria. She loved to play bingo, scratch of lotto tickets and drink Pepsi.
Cremation rites will be accorded through Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton and a graveside burial of the ashes will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 11 am at Fiatt Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the family to help with expenses.
