He was born on November 19, 1950 in Canton to Robert and Ruth (Cook) Bohanan. They preceded him in death.
He married Maudeen Kuzniar on March 14, 1970. She preceded him in death on July 29, 2002.
Surviving are his children, Richard “Ricky” Bohanan Jr of Canton, Bettina Bohanan of Canton, his significant other, Laurie Palmer, brothers, Randy “Tyke” (Jeanette) Bohanan of Canton, Rusty (Lisa) Bohanan of East Peoria and one granddaughter, Livy Kay Swearingen.
He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mike and Betty Kuzniar.
Rick was a general contractor and together with his son owned and operated Bohanan & Son Construction for 53 years. He was a member of Black Diamond and served as past president. His interests included, Archery, bow hunting and Jeeps.
Cremation rites have been accorded through the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 2-5 at the American Legion in Canton.
Memorials may be made to Canton School District Archery Program.
