Virginia Tomic

Canton – N. Virginia Tomic, 98, of Canton, formerly of Bryant, died at 6:37 a.m. Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Graham Hospital in Canton.
She was born on October 13, 1916 in Maples Mill to William O. and Martha L. (Morrell) Leonard.
She first married Raymond Smith, she then married Frank Tomic in Bryant on April 24, 1954. He preceded her in death on March 6, 2005.
Surviving are four sons Randall (Brenda) Tomic of Normal, William C. (Geneva) Smith of Maples Mill, Gerald R. (Pat) Smith of Canton and John L. (Linda) Smith of Canton, 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 1 brother and 3 sisters.
Virginia had worked at Laird’s Greenhouse and was Owner/Operator of Virginia’s Tavern in Bryant for several years. She was a member of the Maples Mill United Methodist Church and Royal Neighbors.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 24 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton, where visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. on Thursday.
Burial will be at Maryville Cemetery in Bryant.
Memorials may be made to Maples Mill United Methodist Church.
