Carroll "Butch" Rilea

Liverpool – Our beloved father, Carroll H. “Butch” Rilea, 90, of Liverpool, passed away at 4:15 a.m., Tuesday April 14, 2015 at Graham Hospital in Canton.
Butch was born on March 4, 1925, the second of ten children to Charles and Marie (Murphy) Rilea.
He married his beloved wife Norma Jean Bair on June 2, 1947 in Canton. Norma preceded him in death on June 16, 2006.
Butch was also preceded in death by two granddaughters who dearly loved him, Laura Lorraine Williams and Georgia Jo West.
He was also preceded in death by four brothers Richard Rilea, Gerald “Jerry” Rilea, Jack Rilea and Donald “Donnie” Rilea.
Butch was dearly loved by his three children Connie (Rilea) Gale, Kathy (Rilea) Foutch and Rick (Jennie) Rilea all residing in Cuba, IL.
He adored his grandchildren Marlo Wax, Jack Smysor, Gina Rowley and Kara Rilea. Great-grandchildren Jackie Bainter, Seth Wax, Steven Smith, Candice Williams, Sebastian Rilea, Ryan Pilgrim, Cole Rowley, T.J. Rowley and great-great granddaughter Sophie Bainter.
Butch is survived by two brothers Charles (Vicki) Rilea Jr. of Canton and Kenneth Rilea of St. David. Three sisters Linda (Milton) Murphy of Wee Ma Tuk, Rose “Sissy” Bohannan of Canton and Genevieve “Jennie” Slater of Bryant whom he enjoyed spending time with and also helped with his care in his later years.  Butch especially enjoyed times he spent with his sisters going to Bingo.
Butch was passionate about doing all kinds of mechanical work on vehicles and home repairs; there was nothing he could not repair. He also liked to cook and sew. He was also a wonderful artist which he spent a lot of time on in later years.
He was a retired welder for International Harvester Co.
Butch was a World War II army veteran.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 25 at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton. A luncheon will be held after services at Liverpool Village Hall, 140 West Chestnut Street.
