Mary Allen

Trivoli – Mary M. Allen, of Trivoli went to be with the Lord at 8:28 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2015.
She was born December 24, 1931 in Farmington, to Walter D. and Elsie W. (Angrave) Simpson.  She married Donald O. Allen on November 30, 1952, in Farmington.  He preceded her in death on December 23, 2010.
She is survived by five daughters, Toni (Robert) Smith, Kim (Douglas) Campbell, Kelly Allen (Joseph Nehring), Lisa Allen, and Lori (David) Durdle; one brother, John Simpson; one sister, Martha Smouse; five grandchildren, Gabriel Smith, Emberly Smith, Seth (Elizabeth) Campbell, Colin (Caty) Campbell, and Zakary Durdle; one step-grandchild, Jayme (Mike) Corcoran; two great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Finn Campbell; and three step-great-grandchildren, Peytan, Cade, and Aleksy Corcoran.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mary was an extraordinary wife, mother of five daughters, caretaker of her mother, and had a great influence on all who came to know her.  She was all about working hard; always a labor of love.  She was a faithful servant of the Lord in her giving, service, and prayers for others in need and for our country’s direction.
Mary also had an adventuresome spirit; she rafted the Colorado River and hiked out of the Grand Canyon at age 60.  Two years later she bicycled across Wisconsin and Michigan.  Later still, she traveled on three mission trips to Russia without knowing a single person on the trip.
Mary was a self-taught seamstress, master gardener, and was creative in all things.  Above all, Mary had the gift of instilling in her children, by example; strength of character, courage, perseverance in trials, endurance, integrity, and overcoming in the face of adversity with an undaunted spirit.
Mary served a mighty God and He did many mighty works in her life.  She was a member of Brimfield Evangelical Free Church.
Cremation rites have been accorded.  A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the Brimfield Evangelical Free Church.  Burial of ashes will be held at a later date at Trivoli Cemetery.  Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Elmwood is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Christian Aid Mission or to the Missions Programs at Brimfield Evangelical Free or Brunswick Community Church.
