                        3 Grandchildren: Hannah, Gage, and Cole Wherley
                        Mother- Majorie Wherley
Preceded by:             father-Robert E. Wherley
Occupation: Lifelong farmer, farming the same ground for 43 years.  To Dennis, farming was never a job.  It was his love.  
Military:        Illinois National Guard
Memberships:         Dennis also served his community on the Table Grove Fire and Rescue
Squad as a volunteer fireman and later chief.  He spent many years on the VIT School Board, serving part time as the president.  He was a member of the American Legion, Fulton County Farm Bureau and the Masons.  He also was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity at Western Illinois University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Education.  Dennis was actively involved in Walk To Emmaus, serving on the board.  He was a member of The Crossing Macomb.  While serving the community was important to Dennis, spending time with his family and friends as well as serving his Lord and Savior were his great love.   
Services:       Celebration of Life at 4:00 pm on Sunday, April 12, 2015
Place:                         Shawgo Memorial Home, Astoria, IL

Visitation:      6-8 pm on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria
Interment:    Harris Cemetery, Table Grove, IL
Memorials:      Table Grove Fire and Rescue Squad or St. Johns Hospital in care of Oncology Department.
