Norma Rogers

Canton –Norma L. Rogers, 85, of Canton, died at 12:58 a.m., Saturday April 25, 2015 at her
residence in Canton.
She was born on January 26, 1930 in Uniontown, Knox County, IL, to Cecil and Jennie Elizabeth “Lizzy” (Barker) Allen.
She married Samuel Rogers on June 5, 1949 in Knoxville, IL.  He survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Tim (Laynah) Rogers of Rogersville, MO, and Sam (Connie) Rogers of Canton; one daughter, Sally (Randy) Strode of Canton; one sister, Arilla “Rilla” (Steve) Shockency of Canton; seven grandchildren, Tim (Shelly) Rogers, Rebekah Ferguson, Shelly White, Sammi (Dan) Durdle, Michael (Angie) Rogers, Brian (Sarah) Strode, and Erica (Jim) McCombs; and twelve great-grandchildren, Malorie and Ryan Ferguson, Elyse and Sydney Rogers, Brandon and Kayleigh White, George Durdle, Avery Rogers, Nicholas and Elaina McCombs, and Natalie and Payton Strode.  She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Bill Allen, and one sister Shirley VanHouten.
Norma worked at Caterpillar, C&G Meats in Peoria, and Nyman’s Grocery.  She is a member  of the Ladies of the Moose in Farmington and past member of the Eastern Star.  She was also an avid bowler and enjoyed playing bingo and traveling.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton on Tuesday April 28, 2015, where visitation will be held on Monday night April 27, 2015 from 5-7 p.m.
Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Evangelical Free Church.
