Margaret E. Zaborac-Wright


Margaret E. Zaborac-Wright, 90, of Canton, passed away at 4:07 PM on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at Graham Hospital in Canton, IL. She was born on May 15, 1933 in Gibson, GA, to Horace I. and Lillian I. (Miller) Dye. She first married Robert E. Zaborac and later married Paul Wright. She is preceded in death by both.


She is also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Neal and Charles Dye.


She is survived by two children, Gary (Trina) Zaborac of Liberty, MO, and Cindy (Mike) Hankins of Canton, IL; four grandchildren, Carissa (Andy) Moser of Canton, IL, Cathleen Juliusson of Canton, IL, Jarrod Zaborac of Austin, TX, and Alex (Adam) Schmidt of Walford, IA; three great-grandchildren, Lainey Moser, Laiken Moser, and Elle Schmidt; and one great-grandbaby Schmidt on the way; five step-children, Mark (Raeann) Wright of Peoria, IL, Todd (Angela) Wright of Peoria, IL, Lynn (Dee) Benway of Peoria, IL, Jill (Jim) Kreid of Peoria, IL, and Janet (Rod) Smith of Dunlap, IL; nine step-grandchildren, Kyle (Kaitlyn) Wright, Kaitlyn (Kyle) Greene, Joshua (Heather) Benway, Alyssa Benway, Kristen (Jerry) Wheeler, Haley (Kyle) Freiburger, Samantha (Morgan) Mooberry, Adam (Bree) Wright, and Hannah (Kolton) Seigel; and 16 step-great-grandchildren.


“Margaret loved her family and spending time with them. She drove for American Red Cross in the past. She delivered Meals on Wheels. She was active in the Christian Women’s Fellowship and the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ. She served as a Deaconess years ago. Margaret was an avid die-hard Chicago Cubs fan. She also enjoyed traveling and playing pinochle, pitch, and going out to eat with friends. Anyone who ever met Margaret knows she was an amazing, beautiful woman who was full of grace and love for all. Her steadfast faith in God was at the center of her life and she lived every day modeling the teachings of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”


Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. A visitation will be held the same day from 10:00 AM -11:00 AM. Pastor Steve Mason will officiate. Burial will follow service at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton, IL. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church in Canton, IL.
