Eleanor M. Gosness

Eleanor Mae Gosnell, 97, of Pekin passed away at 2:30 a.m. on Friday, March 29, 2024 at Pekin Manor Nursing Home. She was born on September 13, 1926 in Topeka, Illinois to William and Nelda (Bartels) Rochester. She married Paul L. Gosnell on November 9, 1946 in Pekin and he preceded her in death on September 18, 2003.

Eleanor is survived by her children: Rod Gosnell of Taylorville, Illinois and Connie (Jim) Whitehead of Mackinaw, Illinois, son-in-law: Charlie Hughes of The Villages, Florida, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and siblings: Larry Rochester of Marquette Heights, Illinois and Kathy Embree of Manito. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter: Linda Hughes, brothers: Dale, Ron, and Ray Rochester, and great-granddaughter: Violet Whitehead.
Eleanor enjoyed gardening and crafts and loved having her family over for gatherings.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a private burial will take place at a later date.
