John was born April 12, 1945, in Edwardsport, IN, to Ray and Eugenia (Hancock) Tribby. John married Mary “Becky” Ruggles on July 30, 1965, in Bicknell, IN. She survives.
John is also survived by one daughter, Diana (Tony) Hart of Peoria; one sister, Marilyn Henebry; four grandchildren, Holly (Mat) Dumay, Kaselyn (Parker) Gibbs, Cory Hart, and Lily Hart; and three great-grandchildren, Theodore Ray Gibbs, Macauley Anthony Gibbs, and Apollos James Dumay.
John is preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Constance Ann Tribby and Rosalie (Darryl) Spurlock.
John served in the Army from 1966 to 1968. He later worked as a Postmaster for many years. John was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Bicknell, IN.
Cremation rites have been accorded. John had great pride in his beautiful gardens at his Bicknell home on Kyanne Lane. A Celebration of Life will be held in his gardens at a later date followed by his burial of his ashes with military honors at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Edwardsport, IN.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Bicknell, IN.
