Shirley Yerbic, 91, of Canton, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2026 at Graham Hospital in Canton.
She was born on October 11, 1934 in Cuba to Guy and Virginia (Bell) Walsh.
She married Frank Yerbic Jr on September 12, 1953 in Canton. He preceded her in death on March 5, 2019.
Surviving are her children, Everett (Laurie Crowell) Yerbic of Canton, Frank (Lucille) Yerbic of Canton, brother, Chalmers Walsh, sister, Jane Jackson, six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
Also proceeding her in death is a brother, Chris Walsh, four sisters, Lois Smith, Sharon Bishop, Alice Kidder, Charlotte Walsh and one grandchild, Zoe Yerbic.
Shirley started working at the St Mary’s School and later retired from the Canton School District where she worked as a custodian and school bus driver after many years of service. She was a past member of St Michaels Catholic Church in St David and the Croation Lodge.
Cremation rites have been accorded by Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. A graveside burial of her ashes will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at 12:30 pm, at St Joseph Cemetery in Canton.
