John William Martin

John William Martin, 84, of Farmington, IL, passed away at 1:07 PM on Friday, October 23, 2026 at UChicago Medicine in Chicago, IL. He was born on September 14, 1942 in Fairfield, Iowa, to John Virgil and Rosetta (Ranard) Martin. He married Faye Carter on September 14, 1963 in Green Rock, IL. She preceded him in death.

He is also preceded in death by his parents; one son, John E. Martin; one brother, Kenny; and four sisters, Karlene, Ruby, Betty, and Judy.

He is survived by two children, Lesa (Jasen) Fuller of Farmington and Dr. John C. (Dr. Erin) Martin of Trivoli, nine grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

John worked and retired as an operating engineer for local 150 in Rock Island. He enjoyed restoring and building cars.

John was a Veteran of the United States Army and proudly served his country.
