Michelle was born on September 21, 1974, in Canton, IL, to Herbert and Lois (Orwig) Tangman. On September 12, 2026, she married Randy Ward at the Assembly of God Church in Havana, IL.
Michelle was a beloved wife, devoted mother, proud grandmother, cherished daughter, sister, and friend. She was someone who found joy in life’s simple pleasures and had a way of leaving little pieces of herself wherever she went.
Michelle loved her family. Being a mother and grandmother was an important part of her life; Michelle had a special love for collecting rocks. Whether she was out exploring or simply going about her day, she always seemed to find one worth keeping. She was known for leaving little stashes of rocks wherever she went, a small but unforgettable reminder of her personality. Music was another great joy in Michelle’s life. She especially loved live music.
Michelle worked as a paraprofessional at Westview Elementary, where she spent her time helping and supporting children. She was also a faithful member of the Assembly of God Church in Havana, IL, where her faith was an important part of her life.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Randy Ward of Browning, IL; her mother, Lois Tangman of Cuba, IL; her four children, Donovan (Rachel Fox) Behymer of Lewistown, IL, Breanna (Nakoma Price) Tangman of Canton, IL, Austin Ward of Lewistown, IL, and Amber Ward of Canton, IL; seven grandchildren Gabrielle Tangman, Alexis Ramey, Sage Davison, Iola Davison, Arielle Ward, Gabe DeMichele, and Connor Davison; two brothers, Herbert Tangman of Cuba, IL, and Marvin Tangman of Cuba, IL; one sister, Carol Jones of Havana, IL; and one niece, Shirley Wood.
Michelle was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Tangman.
Michelle will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
