Elwood Victor “Vic” Ewalt

Elwood Victor “Vic” Ewalt, 77, of Hanna City, IL, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at 8:43 am on Saturday, October 24, 2026. He was born on October 8, 1949 in Peoria, IL to Karl and Marlyn (Nelson) Ewalt. He married Chris Stenwall on October 27, 1979 in Elmwood, IL. Together they shared 47 years of marriage.

Surviving Vic is his wife, Chris Ewalt of Hanna City; his five children, Eric (Mindy) Ewalt of Danvers, IL, Erin Ewalt of Mississippi, Marni (Todd) Stevens of Greencastle, IN, Adam (Angel) Johnson of Troy, Missouri, and Wendy (Necole) Ewalt of Roanoke, VA; eight grandchildren, Alex, Addie, Andrea, Mia, Allison, Andrew, Alyssa, and Kirstian; one great-grandchild, Clara; and three sisters, Lana (Larry) Henderson, Karla (Dan) Polhemus, and Denise Meyers.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Vic retired from Caterpillar after 30 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Elmwood United Methodist Church, the Farmington Moose Lodge, and Hanna City Sportsman’s Club. He loved to golf and fish. He was an avid sports fan and loved the Cubs, the Bears, Fighting Illini, and the Chicago Bulls. He enjoyed playing piano, and he loved to sing; especially karaoke.

A celebration of life will be held at the Hanna City Sportsman’s Club on Saturday, November 21, 2026 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Memorials may be made to the Hanna City Sportsman’s Club Scholarship Fund. Online condolences may be left at www.sedgwickfuneralhomes.com
