Jamie N. Selkirk


James N (Jamie) Selkirk, 84 of Canton, Illinois. Passed away on Friday July 3rd, 2026 in his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born September 26th, 1941 in Peoria to James (Jim) and Betty M (Hartley) Selkirk. They preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death is Cheyenne Selkirk (granddaughter).

He is survived by his wife of 65 years Marilyn L. (Danner) Selkirk, married June 2, 1961 in Canton, Illinois. Also surviving, two children Jimmy Selkirk of Sac City, Iowa and Tina Selkirk (Craig) Shoop of Canton Illinois. Grandchildren Samantha Wyant, Amanda Bishop Garner (Kris), Ashley Shoop Williamson (Nick), Drew (Jessica) Shoop, and Brandi Bishop Johnson and 8 great grandchildren.

Jamie is a graduate of Canton High School class of 1959. He worked at Linn Lanes and Illinois Bell for 30 years of service retiring in 1994.

Jamie was a man of many passions with a very competitive drive and dedication. At a young age he was very involved with his father’s shop Selkirk Harley Davidson. He also belongs to the Gear Jammers club. Jamie was an avid bowler, achieving the first 800 series in Canton and was inducted into the hall of fame in 1971. Jamie was a lifetime member of the Masons. An accomplished archer competing with the PAA (professional archery association) earning a state champion title for the Illinois chapter. His hobbies included: woodworking with his wife (J&M woodworking), golf, listening to music with a lot of bass and video games. Enthusiast outdoorsman and spent countless hours fishing at Spring Lake in Manito ill. Jamie will be remembered for his competitive spirit, many talents and the love he shared with his family. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication, achievement, and cherished memories that his family will carry with them always.

Visitation will be held Saturday July 11, 2026, from 2-4pm at Oak-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. There will be no funeral services.

Cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, Memorials can be made to Serenity Hospice of Canton, IL. or to the Selkirk family.
