He was born February 14, 1926 at home to Harold and Belle Post. He was smitten when he seen a waitress, Dorothy Mosher, in Jenny’s Café in Cuba in the fall of 1947. They were married February 14, 1948. They were married 74 years. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Dorothy February 9, 2022, his parents, one sister, Emma Edwards, and a brother, Gordon Post. He is survived by his son, Myron (Nancy) Post of Fenton, MO; and daughter, Glenna (Post) Haacke (Stephen) Shank of Lewistown, three grandchildren, Troy (Angela) Haacke of Mattoon, Valerie (Aaron) Furrow of Galesburg, and Father Joe Post of MO; five great grandchildren, Kylie, Taylee and Tyler Haacke, and Lily and Cole Furrow.
Glenn graduated from Canton High School in 1944. Glenn was a farmer in the Fulton County region until age 82. He started helping his father farm at age 10 using horses before buying a tractor and implements. He farmed with his father until he passed away, along with his relatives, nephews and his children. In his younger years while farming and living near Canton he worked for United Electric Coal Company, International Harvester, and Pschirrer Coal Company. He later moved to Lewistown in 1971.
He loved his cattle and pigs. Not so much for horses. During his years of farming he learned how to be a mechanic, plumber, welder, doctor of animals, builder, gardener, manager, and a leader. He was a self made man who enjoyed working with his hands and being outside. Most of all he loved his children, grandchildren. He helped anyone who ask. He enjoyed taking boat cruises to the Panama Canal and Alaska. Traveling to different states in the US with his family and watching the grandchildren’s sports activities. He also enjoyed playing bingo and scrabble at the CCFLC in Lewistown, and cards with relatives. Friends and relatives were very important to him. Glenn and Dorothy were members of the Canton Church of the Nazarene.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday August 11th at the Lewistown Church of the Nazarene with Reverend Jim Book officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at Lewistown Church of the Nazarene. Memorial contributions may be made to Lewistown Church of the Nazarene or Canton Church of the Nazarene.
