Joy married Duane Patton on August 17, 1957, at the Edwards United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death in February 2015.
Joy is survived by two children, Mark (Susan) Patton of Brimfield, and Kevin Patton of West Bend, WI; one sister, Judy Groeper; one sister-in-law, Robbie Keyser; two grandchildren, Carly Rose (Jake) Knieser and John (Maegan Lamb) Patton; one great-grandchild, Zooey Patton; her dog, Toby; and cat, Squirt.
Joy is also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Douglas Patton; two brothers, William “Bill” Keyser and Rick Keyser; and two sisters, Frieda Caulkins and Grace Bossingham.
Joy enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, quilting, sewing, and creating rugs on a loom. She also loved the outdoors and taking her dog, Toby, on gator rides.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Elmwood. A visitation will be held the same day prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow the service at Cottonwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Brimfield Fire Department and B.Y.E. Ambulance.
