Ed was born to Edward Sr. and Donna (Phillips) Locke of Canton, August 30, 1949. His life’s journey began early when he met the love of his life, Pam Meyers, at age 13. They were united in marriage on April 19, 1969.
Ed proudly served his country in the Air Force Reserve with the 182nd Tactical Air lift Wing in Peoria for six years. He and Pam shared love of God by teaching Pre-K Sunday School together for many years at Evangelical Free Church. He loved God and lived his life faithfully.
Ed was known as a hard worker in the masonry field for over five decades. He started his career at Taylor Tile before establishing his own business, E&P Masonry. He then spent 53 dedicated years working for Otto Baum.
He served as the President of the Fulton County Riding Club for several years, where he enjoyed flag, plug, and barrel competitions. He loved hunting and fishing, and took joy in teaching those skills to all his grandchildren. Recently, he fulfilled a lifelong dream by going on a bear hunt with his son and grandsons. Ed cherished his retirement, spending time playing with his great-grandchildren.
Ed is survived by his beloved wife, Pam Locke, with whom he shared a beautiful life since they were teenagers. He was a devoted father to his children: Stacie (Todd) Randall and Ryan (Michelle) Locke. He was a proud grandfather to grandchildren: Dylan (Katie) Randall, Jake Randall, Luke (Hannah) Randall, Will (Bailey) Randall, Cassie (Dalton) Miller, Shaylynn (Kaidn) Hasselbacher. Ed was blessed with great-grandchildren- Amelia, Hudson, Waylon, Knox, and Colt- and was eagerly awaiting the arrival of Rosanna. He is also survived by his beloved puppy, “Lucy”, whom he spoiled endlessly. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, John Phillips, his brother, Don (Nancy) Locke, and his sister, Barb Bryant, and several nieces and nephews.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law, Sharon Phillips, and his own mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mary and Bill Meyers, whom he considered his own.
