Paul "PA" Arthur Watson

Paul Arthur Watson, 91, hardworking husband and father, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Monday February 27, 2023.

Paul was born on a farm in Liverpool, Illinois on October 27,1931 to Raymond and Kathryn (Whitehead) Watson. Growing up Paul attended one room schoolhouses along with his brothers Ronald Watson, Roy Watson, and sisters Crystal (Watson) Rude, and Judy (Watson) Norton in Missouri. The family later moved to Canton Il. where he graduated from Canton High School in 1949. He married Mary Jane

(Snyder) Watson on April 4,1954. His wife Mary Jane Watson, parents Raymond Watson, Kathryn Watson, brothers Ronald Watson, Roy Watson preceded him in death, along with grandchildren Jaime Smith and Nathan Watson.

Paul and Mary Jane had 6 children in 8 years. Paul had a variety of jobs, including farming, working at Le Tourneau Manufacturing, working in an autobody shop, salesman, and finally as an insurance adjuster for Allstate. Paul was a Jack of All Trades: he built houses, fixed cars, a repairman of just about anything. But what Paul enjoyed most was being outdoors in nature. He was not only an avid hunter but he loved all animals. Paul had at one time or another almost every type of wild animal as a pet. Mary Jane put up with red squirrels, flying squirrels, foxes, raccoons, ducks, turkeys and peacocks, to name a few, both in and outside of the house. Paul loved tending his flowers when he got older. Paul was a disciplinarian with his children, but when it came to his grandchildren and great grandchildren, they could do little wrong. Paul attended Shields Chapel and was later a member of Evangelical Free Church of Canton.
