Curtis Eugene Pellhum

Curtis Eugene Pellhum, 52, of Havana, passed away at his home at 10:24 a.m., on Friday, February 3, 2023. He was born May 23, 1970, in Canton. He married Marcia Neal on December 17, 2016, in Sullivan, Illinois. She survives.


Curtis is survived by his mother, Beverly Jean Witherall, of Kilbourne; wife, Marcia, of Havana; four children: Tammy (Josh) Phillips, of Jacksonville, Amy Pellhum, of Rockford, Curtis (Cassie) Pellhum Jr., and David Pellhum, both of Jacksonville; four grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. Also surviving are siblings: Robert (Judith) Pellhum, of Smithfield, Mary Witherall, of Springfield, Garfield (Yole) Pellhum, of Williamsville, MO, John Witherall of Modesto, California, Elizabeth (Ed) Rilea, of Havana and Verla (James) Smith, of Kilbourne. He was preceded in death by his father, Curtis O. “Wort” Witherall, grandparents, one brother, Alvin and one niece, Sydney.

Curtis was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan. He enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, mushroom hunting and the outdoors. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was most recently employed as a truck driver.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Cremation rites will follow the visitation.
