Dennis C. Nelson, 80, of Galesburg, formerly of Galva, passed away at 2:20 am Sunday, February 19, 2023 at the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. He was born on April 20, 1942 in Minneapolis, MN to Orvel and Edith (Baugher) Nelson. Dennis married Patty Swan on March 30, 1963 in Atlanta, IL. She survives along with three children; Lynne Nelson of Abingdon, Timothy (Christine) Nelson of Palatine and James Nelson of Galesburg, brother Daniel (Maxine) Nelson of Lincoln, ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. His parents and four brothers preceded him in death.Dennis worked at the Galva Auto Supply store and later as a janitor at Galva Grade School. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. Dennis loved spending time with friends and family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a Navy veteran.
