Kem is survived by four children, Kerry Meline of Boston, Denise Babbitt of London Mills, IL, Nealy Babbitt of Metamora, IL and Joshua Babbitt of Colorado; eight grandchildren, Jamon, Keegen, Keely, Ry, Ezra, Eleanor, Nathan and Gary Jr.; six great-grandchildren, Ellie, Walker, Will, Choe, Hannah, and Jackson; three brothers, Dennis (Peggy) Routt, Robert (Valerie) Routt, and James (Mindy) Butler; one sister, Margaret (Richard) Bull; special friend, Gary Eveland Sr; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Kem owned Squirrel Pit in Quiver Beach, Havana, IL. In her early years, she worked as a secretary for a school district in Texas. She was a life member of the VFW auxiliary in Havana, IL. She loved spending time with her grandkids and friends. She also enjoyed canoeing, swimming, and live music shows.
