Judith Whitehouse

Judith Whitehouse, 81, of Manito, passed away at Pekin Hospital at 8:50 a.m., on Thursday, February 16, 2023. She was born January 17, 1942, in Spring Lake Township to Clyde and Bertha (Hughes) Callaway. She married Larry W. Whitehouse on September 13, 1959, in Manito. He preceded her in death on April 8, 2021.

Mrs. Whitehouse is survived by three children: Scott (Carolyn) Whitehouse, of Burnside, Illinois, Eric (Marcia) Whitehouse, of Manito, Kathleen (Gene) Blake, of Atwater, Minnesota; four grandchildren: Kara Whitehouse, Noah Whitehouse, Luke Whitehouse, Jennifer Blake Redgate; four great-grandchildren: Elijah, Ethan, Jaelynn, and Jackson. Also surviving are four siblings: Gary (Gloria) Callaway, Clyde (Debbie) Callaway, Donna Meeker, Shirley Veerman; and sister-in-law, Doris Callaway. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son: James Whitehouse, Glen Callaway and Jean Veerman, as well as brother-in-laws, Dean Veerman, Jack Veerman, and Paul Meeker; and sister-in-law, Lois Callaway.
Mrs. Whitehouse was a member of Manito Community United Methodist Church. She worked for Forman and Midwest Central High Schools as a cook for twenty-three years. She was a member of Tri-County Twirlers, American Legion Auxiliary, a volunteer at Immanuel’s Warehouse and a lifelong resident of Manito. Judy was always very family oriented. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation immediately prior to the services, from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. at Maas-Hurley Funeral Home, in Manito. Burial will follow the services at Meadowlawn Cemetery. Rev. Steve Oaks will officiate.
