Deborah R. Lindsey


Deborah R. Lindsey, age 59 of Astoria, Illinois passed away at 11:45 am on Thursday, January 14, 2021 in Rushville, Illinois. She was born on August 26, 1961 in Rushville, the daughter of Roy Lee “Dode” and Margaret Ann (Thompson) Hollenback. She was married to Roger Lindsey from 1980 to 1997.

She is survived by her two daughters, Amber (and Anthony) Sparrow of Macomb, Illinois and Rachel (and Jeremiah Miller) Lindsey of Astoria, her partner, Robbie Adkins of Astoria, with whom she made her home, his sons Shawn (and Kylie) Easley of Good Hope, Illinois and Kyle Adkins of Kincaid, Illinois, 9 grandchildren; Chloe Chambers, Keegan Foglesong, Hayden Chambers, Jack Sparrow, Tymber Chambers, Kash, Kason, Memphis, and Legend, 3 brothers; Mike (and Emily) Hollenback and Bill (and Marcia) Hollenback, both of Ipava, Illinois, Blake (and Christy) Hollenback of Adair, Illinois, and 3 sisters; Jane (and Kevin) Cowin of Rushville, Cindy (and Steve) Lewis of Flora, Illinois, and Rebecca (and Donnie) Watson of Table Grove, Illinois.

Deborah was preceded in death by her parents and great-granddaughter, Oaklynn Alice.

She loved Jesus and her grandchildren dearly. Her family was her life and she enjoyed taking care of them. Deborah didn’t mind giving you her opinion, but she loved you regardless. She never left the house until her make-up and jewelry, which she adored, were perfect.

Deborah was a very talented crafter. She worked for Blessings Primitives in Canton, Illinois. She formerly worked as a Phlebotomist at Coleman Clinic in Canton and as a CNA at Astoria Gardens in Astoria.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 21st from 5-7 pm at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Social distancing and masks are required. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm following the visitation. Pastor Darren Fish will officiate. Interment will be private in the Table Grove Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pregnancy Resource Center in Rushville, Illinois.
