Canton – Richard F. “Rick” Orr,
44, formerly of Canton passed away at 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2016,
at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born May 3, 1972, in
Canton to Rodney A. Orr and Cheryl L. (Eskridge) Bayard.
He is survived by his parents,
Rodney A. (Carol) Orr of Maryville and Cheryl L. (Ted) Bayard of Creve Coeur;
his fiancé, Sabrina Ringer of Decatur; one sister, Amy (Adam) Randall of
Peoria; paternal grandfather, Roy E. Orr of Canton; maternal grandfather, Clyde
Eskridge of Canton; two step-sisters, Erica (Jack) Sykut of Glen Carbon and
Emily Spurgeon of Hannibal, MO; one step-brother, Rob Bayard of Washington; and
his niece and nephews, Ashley, Aidan, Joseph, Jacob, and John.
He was preceded in death by his paternal
grandmother, Margaret Orr and by his maternal grandmother, Jean Pritchard.
Rick was a veteran of the United
States Army. He earned his electrical
engineering degree from Spoon River College and later worked for
Caterpillar. He enjoyed jazz music and
camping, and was a member of the Cuba Masonic Lodge.
Cremation rites have been
accorded. A memorial service, with
Masonic Rites, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at South
Park United Methodist Church in Canton.
Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in rural Canton. Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton is in
charge of arrangements.
