                      Daughter- Heidi (and Justin) Elbe of Macomb, IL
                      Son- A.J. Hamm of Springfield, IL
                      7 Grandchildren: Griffin Bloyd, Lance Hamm, Jersee Hamm,
                      Emma Hamm, Nicholas Elbe, Josie Elbe, Lucie Elbe.

Occupation:  Worked at Dynegy Midwest Generation in Havana, IL as a Maintenance Foreman for 39 years, retiring on May 3, 2016. He also worked as a welder at Buckheart Coal Mine in Canton, IL and Elm Mine in Elmwood, IL. He taught Vocational Welding at Astoria High School and Spoon River College. 

Memberships:  He graduated from Astoria High School where he played football for the Pirates.  Playing football gave Nick his work ethic.  He graduated from WIU with a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Vocational Education. He was a member of IBEW.   He was an avid reader and enjoyed working on machinery and helping out his neighbors.  Nick also like to travel.

Visitation:  5 to 8pm, Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL

Services:  11am Friday, August 12, 2016, also at the funeral home

Officiating:  Pastor Robert Green

Cremation rites will be accorded after the service

Memorials:  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Illinois Neurological Institute at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL or the South Fulton Athletic Boosters.
