Canton – John E. Dodd Sr, 78, of Canton passed away at 9:22 pm Saturday, March 5, 2016 at his residence. He was born on May 9, 1937 in Tomahawk, Wisconsin to Richard E. and Eva (Barney) Dodd. John married Coral Wages in Canton, IL. in 1984. She survives along with 4 children; John E. (Jackie) Dodd Jr. of Morton, John R. Dodd and William E. Dodd both of Vandelia, and Gabriella Ritchart of Wisconsin, brother Ron Dodd of Madison, Wisconsin, 2 sisters; Marge Dillion and Joann Luebke both of St. Bonifacius, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Rick Dodd.
John attended schools in Mound Minnesota and also attended Berkley University. He worked as a draftsman for Bleck Engineering Company in Waukegan, IL and was manager of Naper North Commerce Center until he retired in 1994.
John was a Navy veteran serving in the Vietnam with 11 years of service. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion both in Canton.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials can be made to the Wounded Worriers Project Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton is in charge of arrangements.
