He was born February 26, 1928, in Peoria to Oakley and Verlie (Rakestraw) Drumm. He married Phoebe Leary on August 21, 1948, and she preceded him in death on December 26, 2007.
He is survived by nieces, Deb Leary, of Parker CO, Diana Smith, Vickie Black, Linda Sepich, and Beth Ann Hall; and nephews, Mike Leary of Aurora, CO, Tim Leary, of Thornton, CO, Brian Leary, of Scottsdale, AZ, and Robert L. Drumm of Elgin, IL, sister-in-law, Joyce Leary of Aurora, CO, and his God daughter Debby and her husband Steve DeRenzy of Canton whom he thought of as family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Lee Drumm, Sr.
George was a boilermaker for Boilermakers Local 60, in Morton, retiring in 1990. He was a lifetime member of the Masonic Blue Lodge in Havana and a member of the Fulton County Historical Society.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at 11 am, at the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton with a visitation one hour prior at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Canton.
