Canton- On Monday, March 14th 2016 Doug A. Romine, 51, of Canton, suffered a sudden debilitating illness at home which rendered him pulseless and without respirations. Doug passed away at 10:08 PM on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.
Doug was born August 15th, 1964 at Graham Hospital in Canton, IL to Ronald and Joyce Romine.
He is survived by his parents, Ron and Joyce Romine of Canton; his sister, Debbie Ryan of Canton; his son "Scott" Douglas Romine of Rock Island; his nephew and niece, Jeff Ryan of Portland, OR and Allison Huskey of Mt. Zion; as well as two great nieces.
Doug really enjoyed working and helping others in and around the Canton area. He had a passion for cars, car races and being able to spend time with his parents and sister, as well as friends. Doug jumped at the opportunity to assist friends and family with whatever task was at hand. Continuing in his ability to help others, Doug will be able to live on through organ donation with the Gift of Hope foundation. For this the family feels truly blessed and proud. He will forever be remembered as "Uncle Doug".

Cremation rites have been established through Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home, Canton, IL. A celebration of life ceremony will be held at the Elks of Canton this Sunday, March 20th at 1:00 to 3:00 pm.
