Virginia Louise Poscis (Cozart) was born February 17, 1942 in Canton. She was the daughter of Park and Imogene (Easley) Cozart. She married Walter L. Poscis on July 10, 1960 in Cuba. He died March 30, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law, Everett Murphy, her sister, Janice (Clayton) Myers, and great granddaughter, Hadleigh.
She is survived by her two daughters, Lori (late Everett) Murphy, and Pam Clouse. Sister -in-law, Sandra (late Willis) Girard. Grandchildren, Brandon (Christy) Murphy, Tabitha (Jeremy) Brown, Melissa (Clayton) Stufflebeam, Shaun Murphy, Chris (fiancée Kaylee) Clouse, and Whitney Murphy. Great grandchildren, Carter, Kendal, Gwen, Oliver, Walter, and Lukas.
Virginia was a Cuba High School graduate. She worked at Hagley’s Restaurant in Canton, and then retired from the dietary department at Clayberg Fulton County Nursing Center. Mom loved her two daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. One of her favorite things to do was go with her cousin Deb and meet aunt Poney and aunt Ida to play slots on the boat in East Peoria. Virginia made the best flaky pie crust and thin noodles. She loved everyone getting together and sharing good times. Virginia was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, she was a big part of the former PTA food stand at the Soldiers and Sailors Reunion.
Cremation will be accorded. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Sunday June 7th at Howard Cemetery rural Smithfield. A meal will follow at The Elks, 61 West Elm St. Canton.
