Cindy Peterman

Cindy Peterman, 69, of Cuba, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at OSF St Francis Hospital in Peoria.

She was born on November 17, 1956 in Peoria to James and Lenore (Powell) Neal. They preceded her in death.

She married Jim Peterman in Lewistown. He preceded her in death on May 20, 2009.

Surviving are two daughters, Kathy (Marcus) Beaty of Cuba, Brandy (Paul) Filip of Canton, one brother, Terry (Marsha) Neal of Monmouth, two sisters, Linda (the late Dale) Hall of Monmouth, Christine (Larry) Myers of Maryland. and grandchildren, Abby (Trent) Slayden, Jordan (Levi) Draughan, Cody (Dakota) Maxwell, Olivia Beaty, Chase (Danielle) Filip, Nicole Filip, great grandchildren, Henley, Walker, Della and Emry, sister-in-law, Rita Neal and her best friend, Paula Markley.

Her brother Jim also passed away on the same date as her.

Cindy was an extremely hard worker throughout her life working at the Canton Country Club and cleaning private homes. She retired from the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton after working for more than two decades, where she was more than just an employee, she became part of the family. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Cuba. She was skilled at making crafts and opened a booth on the Spoon River Scenic Drive for many years to sell her crafts. She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.

Cremation rites will be accorded with Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton.

The family will receive friends at the Cuba American Legion on Sunday, May 24, 2026 from 2-5 pm for a time of food and fellowship.

Memorials may be made to the Cuba American Legion Auxillary.
